Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is an actor from Romania and Germany. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only children from Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various shows on television by the time she turned 16. Her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress. Alexandra is well-known for her involvement in many notable projects, both in the United States and internationally. The projects include British biographical feature Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. She also served part of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
