Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actor and TV host. She is best known for her role as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. The only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her professional career in the show business from a young age. At the age of 16, she turned sixteen, she had secured prominent roles in a variety of shows on television. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress. Alexandra was involved in a variety of significant international and national productions throughout her career. A few of them include the British biographical film Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and the French historic miniseries Napoleon. She was also part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
